Chairman & CEO
Mr. Salman is currently the Chairman & CEO of AUR Capital.
Ashraf Salman was appointed Minister of Investment of the Arab Republic of Egypt from June 2014 until March 2016. The ministry's mandate included directly supervising The General Authority for Investment (GAFI), the state owned companies under the law number 203 of 1991 (8 Holding companies and 125 affiliates). And overseeing the Egyptian capital market via the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA), and the Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX).
During this period, he chaired, and participated in, a number of governmental institutions such as being the chairman of The General Authority for Investment (GAFI), board member of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), the General Authority for Rehabilitation projects and Agricultural Development (GARPAD), the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SC Zone), and The Supreme Council of Tourism.
Salman also headed and was a member of over 40 government committees concerned with investment related issues such as the ministerial economic committee, the investment conflict-resolution committee, the international arbitrage counseling committee, amongst others. Before the ministry, Salman was the co-founder and co-CEO of Cairo Financial Holding (CFH), one of Egypt's fastest growing investment banks. He is an MBA holder from Birmingham University, Alabama, USA, and a Lead Assessor granted by SGS Yarsley, United Kingdom.
Sheikh Mohammed Wajih Sharbatly is the Chief Executive Officer of Al Nahla Group, a leading investment and development holding company that have been operating in Saudi Arabia since early 1930’s.
Its subsidiaries and joint venture companies are focused specially in the financial, trading, real estate, telecommunications and private equity industries in the MENA region. In this capacity, Mr. Sharbatly holds chairmanship and directorship positions in Al Nahla Group’s various holdings. Mr. Sharbatly is an extraordinarily dynamic, self-made businessman. In 1990 Mr. Sharbatly established his first major endeavor in Saudi Arabia where he founded Fast Auto Technic Company Ltd. (exclusive dealer of Ferrari and Maserati in Saudi Arabia) by positioning the quality of the service to a far higher standard to that of competitors, he was able to take lead in a specialized and highly competitive luxury car market.
In 1996, Mr. Sharbatly joined the family business. Mr. Sharbatly modernized and systematized management structures and implemented process improvements. Mr. Sharbatly took the Al Nahla Group to great height during controlled economy era. After the liberalization process, Mr. Sharbatly restructured company's policies to meet the challenges of globalization. Presently, Mr. Sharbatly holding several senior positions with a variety of companies throughout the region as well as internationally, and also serves as the member of the Board of Directors with a variety of regional and international companies. Moreover, Mr. Sharbatly is an active member of the Saudi German Business Group. Mr. Sharbatly received his Bachelor's Degree in Public Relation and Marketing from the American University Cairo, Egypt.
Mr. Nidal Assar is currently the Chief Executive Officer of EG BANK. Since his appointment on this role early 2015, Mr. Assar led a major internal restructuring and enhancement of operational and controls efficiency, to establish a solid modern and young banking institution evolving around the contemporary needs of today’s customers. Mr. Assar has totally shifted the business model of the bank by adopting a smart and aggressive growth strategy that resulted to achieving unprecedented fast growth rates on all fronts. Prior to EG Bank he was the Deputy Governor for monetary stability at the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
Mr. Assar has over 18 years of experience in banking, finance, monetary management and international capital markets. He joined the Central Bank of Egypt in 2004 as part of the reform program launched to overhaul the Egyptian banking system. Mr. Assar holds a Master’s degree in Finance from a joint program at Syracuse and Harvard Universities and holds a BA in Economics from the American University in Cairo.
